Leestam is a property marketplace operating in Nigeria that connects property seekers with verified real estate professionals (agents, brokers, agencies, developers, property managers, and landlords). We are the data controller responsible for your personal information.

• Account information: your name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash), and role.
• Profile & professional details: for professionals — company, license number, years of experience, bio, areas of expertise, location, and social links you choose to add.
• Verification documents: identity and business documents (e.g. NIN, CAC certificate) submitted to verify professional accounts.
• Listings & media: property details, prices, locations, and the photos you upload.
• Communications: messages, tour requests, and enquiries you exchange through the platform, and emails you send our support team.
• Sign-in data: if you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile (name, email, profile photo) from Google.
• Usage & device data: log data, IP address, browser/device information, and cookies or similar technologies used to keep you signed in and to understand how the service is used.

• To create and operate your account and provide the service.
• To verify professional accounts and listings, and to detect duplicate or fraudulent listings.
• To enable communication, tours, and enquiries between users.
• To send transactional emails (verification codes, password resets, listing and account notifications).
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
• To improve and analyse the performance of our platform.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted providers who process it on our behalf, under appropriate safeguards:

• Cloudinary — hosting and delivery of uploaded images.
• Resend — sending transactional email.
• Google — optional Google sign-in (OAuth).
• Analytics & hosting providers — to run, measure, and secure the service.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, secure your session, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect parts of the service.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and thereafter only as required to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. Verification documents are retained only as long as necessary for the verification purpose.

We protect your data with measures such as encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and continually improve our safeguards.

Subject to applicable law (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act), you may request to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, or object to certain processing. You can update most details from your account, or contact us to exercise these rights.

Leestam is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Leestam after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
